WHAT IS AURA-SOMA

Aura-Soma communicates the concept that we are, in essence, beings of light or living energies. As in the perspective of quantum physics – that all matter is light vibrating at different frequencies – human beings are, at the cellular level, bio-photons, taking in and giving out light. At the mystical core of the world’s most ancient traditions is the premise that all things begin with and return to the innermost Self as a reflection of, and a way back to, the Light from which we came. Aura-Soma appeals to many people throughout the world, regardless of race or religion, because of the inherent simplicity of colour. Those of us who are compelled to look deeper can find the exploration in to colour extremely satisfying. Aura-Soma is a reminder and recognition of ourselves as light beings / bodies. Aura (light) - Soma (body).

HOW DOES AURA-SOMA WORK

Aura-Soma works on principles similar to those of other holistic wellness tools. The products are formulated by combining biodynamic and organic botanicals with spagyric quintessences of crystals and gems. Through sympathetic resonance, the energetic vibrations of these ingredients have a stimulating, clarifying, and balancing effect on us. Interacting with the colours of Aura-Soma can be a personally supportive, affecting the energetics of our subtle anatomy and physical being, resulting in a profound effect on our wellbieng. Supplying the needed colour, plant and crystal energies to the body helps us move into a state of more harmonious ease, as well as providing a window in to our conscious and subconscious mind.

OUR SOIL TO SOUL PHILOSOPHY

Our ‘soil to soul’ philosophy influences everything we do and why we do it. This intention is expressed on the Aura-Soma Demeter-certified biodynamic Shire Farm in the heart of Lincolnshire, where we work in harmony with nature, growing many of the ingredients for our products. By cultivating the land following biodynamic methods we ensure it remains healthy and fertile for years to come. In doing so, we increase the strength and vitality within the plants and herbs we grow. This attention means that when a plant is harvested it’s energy force has been nourished through well-tended soil, rewarding us with a more potent essence that helps to improve your wellbeing. Furthermore, by adhering to the biodynamic principles governed by the lunar cycles not only do our plants retain their maximum energetic potential but also the microorganisms in the soil are restored for future generations⁠.

THE CHAKRA PATH

Just as humans have chakras - subtle energy centres in the body that energy flows through - Mike Booth designed Shire Farm to have very clear chakra centres, which offer places of quiet contemplation. As with the human chakra, each energy centre is related to a specific colour and has been identified with crystals from particular parts of the world. For example, the red energy centre at the far end of Shire Farm has ruby, rubellite and rose quartz crystals, placed to help ground energy. Our chakra path is another demonstration of our soil to soul philosophy, nurture and be nurtured, as the vitality of the land has a beneficial effect on the wellbeing of humans and vice versa.

THE BEGINNING OF AURA-SOMA

After dedicating her life to the welfare of others as a surgical chiropodist, Vicky Wall retired due to clinical blindness. At the age of 70, she immersed herself into a world of meditation and wellbeing, which led to the creation of Aura Soma in 1983. The idea came to her one evening, where she worked in her small home laboratory mixing oils, water, herbs and plant extracts to create the first ever version of the dual coloured Equilibrium bottles. She did all of this by feel, guided by instinct. Come morning, the light radiated through the coloured layers that we are all so familiar with today. The bottles captured the imagination of everyone they came into contact with, inspiring Vicky to create more colour combinations by infusing plant, crystal, and colour energies.

THE EVOLUTION OF AURA-SOMA

Before her passing in 1991, Vicky entrusted the stewardship of Aura-Soma to Mike Booth. Since then, Mike has dedicated his life to carrying out Vicky’s wishes, to make Aura-Soma available to all who truly seek it; as well as further enhancing the products to continue her dream of the introduction of biodynamic botanicals and spagyric quintessences of crystals and gems. Prior to meeting Vicky, Mike's spiritual journey spanned many influences and traditions, including training in and discovering Druidic studies, mystical Kabbalah, Sufism, Zen, the systemology of the Tree of Life and the angelic realms. All of this, including his experience as a healer and his keen interest in the philosophies of Rudolf Steiner - particularly in the areas of education, biodynamic farming and colour as a language of universal consciousness - have been significant influences in the evolution of Aura-Soma.
