In 1984, Mike’s path crossed with Vicky Wall, the visionary founder of Aura-Soma, sparking a deep connection. They quickly bonded over shared spiritual experiences and a common sense of purpose, embarking on a seven-year journey together, teaching and travelling the world. As Aura-Soma’s system blossomed, Vicky recognized Mike’s unique gifts and entrusted him with the responsibility of guiding its evolution. When Vicky passed away in 1991, Mike, alongside his wife Claudia Booth and Vicky’s partner Margaret Cockbain, became the stewards of Aura-Soma, determined to carry forward her mission: to share the transformative power of colour with the world.
Mike’s own spiritual journey is a tapestry woven from many threads. Raised in a family with a deep spiritual heritage, his early exposure to Druidic teachings connected him to nature’s wisdom and the importance of harmony with the Earth. As his spiritual quest deepened, he delved into the mystical realms of Kabbalah, exploring the Tree of Life and the angelic realms. His exploration didn’t stop there—he later trained in Sufism and Zen, integrating these practices into his work in management training. His work as a healer, combined with his interest in the philosophies of Rudolf Steiner—particularly in education, biodynamic farming, and colour as a universal language—became key influences in shaping Aura-Soma’s principles.
Mike’s commitment to sustainability is reflected in Shire Farm, a biodynamic farm owned by Aura-Soma Products Ltd. Here, he has applied his belief in a “soil to soul” approach, integrating ecological health with personal and planetary well-being. This farm stands as a living testament to his dedication to reforestation, regenerative agriculture, and the idea that true healing begins with the Earth.
Art has also been a cornerstone of Mike’s spiritual path. Trained in fine arts and education, his passion for pottery and, later, mandala painting, helped him cultivate the intuitive and creative flow that continues to drive Aura-Soma’s development. As Chairman of Aura-Soma Products Ltd, Mike not only oversees the company’s operations but also inspires innovation, guiding the development of new products that continue to resonate with people around the globe.
As the Principal of the Aura-Soma Academy, Mike is at the forefront of a global movement to expand awareness about the healing potential of colour. The Academy, an independent training institution, is dedicated to educating people on the profound connections between colour, consciousness, and well-being. Through his work as a teacher, author, and speaker, Mike has illuminated the mysteries of colour, subtle anatomy, and the symbiotic relationship between human consciousness and the natural world. His efforts have touched the lives of more than 50,000 people across the globe, deepening the understanding of how colour and consciousness can transform individuals and the world around them.
